Gynaecological Oncology Centre

The Gynaecological Oncology Centre provides a comprehensive range of specialised care for patients with gynaecological cancers.

About Gynaecological Oncology

Gynaecological cancers may arise from any organs of the reproductive tract, including vulva, vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries and peritoneum. Cancers of the endometrium, ovary and cervix are the most common gynaecological cancers in Hong Kong. It is well established that women with certain gynaecological cancers such as ovarian cancer have better outcome when treated by gynaecological oncologists in a specialised centre.

Multidisciplinary Team Approach (MDT)

With recent significant advances in the management of gynaecological cancers, these cancers are treated using a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) approach. Examples include the use of sentinel lymph node mapping in endometrial and cervical cancer, hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for ovarian and peritoneal cancer, targeted therapy in the maintenance treatment of advanced ovarian cancer and immunotherapy in the treatment of endometrial and cervical cancer. The dedicated multidisciplinary team of doctors at Gleneagles is ready to achieve an optimal long-term outcome for patients.
