Senior Nurse Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Reporting to Director of Nursing / Assistant Director of Nursing, to lead and supervise nursing units ensuring patients received quality and safe care
  • Provide leadership in the recruitment, development and retention of nurses in partnership with nursing teams and HR department
  • Conduct performance evaluation of Nurse Managers / Nursing staff
  • Hold the accountability and coordinate with unit managers to implement staff orientation, in service training and staff development programs
  • Effectively provide communications to nursing staffs on hospital’s vision, mission and values
  • Assess competency mix across the organization and facilitate any allocation changes requested by Nurse Managers
  • Ensure that clinical policies and procedures are in line with the hospital’s system, thus guiding nursing practice
  • Lead, facilitate and promote patient’s clinical safety and risk management practices amongst nursing teams
  • Facilitate hospital occurrence reviews based on clinical incident data
  • Lead and facilitate nursing and across functional committees and projects, ensuring Workplace Safety and Health Culture of the team
  • Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
  • Serve as a change agent and drive initiatives on service quality
  • Act as mentor, coach and counselor to Nurse Managers, be a role model of the nursing team
  • Foster sound professional collaborative relationships with clinical leadership team and the public
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing and preferably with a post-graduate Master Degree in Nursing or Healthcare / Heath Services discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification clinical experience with at least 5 years in a nursing management role, previous experience in similar functions will be an advantage
  • Post registration specialty qualifications
  • Possess a valid/current nursing practicing certificate in Hong Kong
  • Clinical and technical competency
  • Experience in Quality and Risk Management
  • Strong leadership and influencing skill
  • Experience in nursing recruitment, training and development activities
  • Staff coaching and mentoring skill is essential
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese Languages
