(20 June 2019 – Hong Kong) Gleneagles Hong Kong Hospital (Gleneagles) has recently won the “Management Innovation of the Year Award” in Healthcare Asia Awards 2019 for initiating a number of innovative initiatives that aim to deliver excellent and transparent healthcare services to patients and introducing new concepts and systems to Hong Kong’s private healthcare.

Organised by Healthcare Asia Magazine, the Healthcare Asia Awards 2019 honours hospitals and healthcare institutions in the Asia-Pacific Region which have risen above industry challenges and taken exceptional initiatives.

Driven by the vision of helping shape Hong Kong’s private healthcare through innovation, transparency and quality service, Gleneagles’ Chief Executive Officer Mr Dirk Schraven said, “As a new hospital, we aspire to look for innovative initiatives that will offer transparent and excellent medical services to patients and bring about positive changes to the development of Hong Kong’s private healthcare. Being part of a global healthcare group also means that we are able to leverage its international experience and network to bring in new systems, concepts and best practices to our hospital.” “This award is an encouragement to us, together with the increasing support to our initiatives from patients, doctors and other stakeholders, we are pleased to note that we are in the right direction,” Mr Schraven added.

At the Awards Ceremony in Singapore, Gleneagles’ Chief Operating Officer Dr Kenneth Tsang said, “We are providing price transparency through all-inclusive medical packages, high medial standards via our unique clinical partnership with The University of Hong Kong, and excellent and innovative services.” “We also place great emphasis on continuous improvement and hopefully as we grow, we will be innovating not just for ourselves, but also for the private healthcare sector in the city,” Dr Tsang added.

Since commencement of operation in 2017, Gleneagles has introduced a number of initiatives that aim to enhance patients’ confidence in utilising private healthcare services as to support the Government’s efforts in transforming the city’s healthcare system and alleviating the over-stressed public system.  Gleneagles is the first private hospital in the city to introduce fee transparency and certainty via all-inclusive packages, fee advisory service to all patients before admission, automated drug dispensing system in all wards, and the 24-hour fully-automated track system in its laboratory to ensure accurate and efficient testing and diagnostic results are a few to name. To make transparent, high-quality healthcare more accessible to the public, Gleneagles also initiated innovative partnerships with major insurance companies such that its medical packages are fully or mostly covered by ward-class insurance plans.
