(8 October 2025 – Hong Kong) The brand-new Gleneagles MediCentre under IHH Healthcare was officially opened today, marking another significant step in IHH’s continued investment in Hong Kong’s healthcare sector. Upholding hospital-standard patient safety and care, Gleneagles MediCentre offers a wide range of ambulatory services which include oncology outpatient consultation and chemotherapy, endoscopy, minor surgeries, plastic surgery, and medical aesthetics. Integrating innovative technologies, Gleneagles MediCentre is among the first private day centres in Hong Kong to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) to optimise patient journey, delivering efficient, seamless and smart healthcare experiences. At the launch event today, Gleneagles MediCentre also announced a collaboration with the Hong Kong Society of Digestive Oncology to provide 1,000 free faecal occult blood tests to promote early colorectal cancer screening and encourage the public to take proactive care of bowel health.

Guests officiating at the opening ceremony included Dr Prem Kumar Nair, Group Chief Executive Officer of IHH Healthcare; Mr Dilip Kadambi, Group Chief Financial Officer; Mr Ashok Pandit, Group Chief Corporate Officer; Mr Nelson Chan, Director and President of CTF Logistics Holdings and Director of Logistics and Facility Management of CTF Services Ltd; and Dr Kenneth Tsang, Regional Chief Executive Officer of IHH Healthcare North Asia and Chief Executive Officer of Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong.

Strategically located in the heart of Admiralty, close to Admiralty MTR station and major business districts, Gleneagles MediCentre is highly accessible. Incorporating technology into its human-centric care the Centre applies digital and AI technologies across different stages of patient journey. These include digitalisation for processes such as registration and payment; AR navigation which allows patients to quickly locate consultation rooms, diagnostic or treatment areas on their mobile phones; and the use of a generative AI-powered voice-to-text tool which captures clinician-patient conversations and simultaneously generates them into clinical notes. The system supports 34 languages, enabling doctors to focus on clinical care and patient communication. The seamless flow is also complemented by the use of an AI-assisted insurance form-filling function to simplify manual documentation, reducing administrative and waiting time.

Gleneagles MediCentre adheres to the same hospital-standard patient safety and quality as Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong and is the first private ambulatory care centre in Hong Kong to provide pre-anaesthesia clinic (PAC), ensuring patients receive professional assessment before undergoing procedures. Gleneagles MediCentre houses an oncology clinic, where a dedicated team of experienced oncologists and nursing staff provides chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy. Its endoscopy services cover gastroscopy, cystoscopy, colonoscopy, hysteroscopy and colposcopy. In addition, the centre can perform a range of minor day surgeries and diagnostic procedures, including abscess incision and drainage, plasma-rich protein (PRP) injection, and hysteroscopic polyp excision. It also features a medical aesthetic clinic, offering a comprehensive range of services, with all surgeries and procedures performed by plastic surgeons or registered physicians, and anaesthesia care is provided by anaesthesiologists when required. As a member of the Gleneagles integrated network, Gleneagles MediCentre also offers seamless access to further specialist consultation, diagnostics and investigation services at Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong.

Dr Kenneth Tsang, Regional Chief Executive Officer of IHH Healthcare North Asia and Chief Executive Officer of Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong, said, “Gleneagles has been actively driving healthcare transformation and innovation. By incorporating AI and AR technologies into clinical workflows at Gleneagles MediCentre, we aspire to set a new benchmark of personalised patient experience while ensuring high standard of medical care. The centre also reflects our strategic direction to implement “out of hospital” care model, enabling the community to access safe and convenient ambulatory treatment and specialist support, which redefines healthcare accessibility.”

As part of Hong Kong’s healthcare community, Gleneagles MediCentre actively fulfils its social responsibility. Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers in Hong Kong and it has become more common among younger people in recent years. While Colorectal cancer often presents no obvious symptoms in its early stages, non-invasive faecal occult blood test can help detect the disease earlier and improve treatment outcomes. To enhance public awareness of early screening, Gleneagles MediCentre will collaborate with the Hong Kong Society of Digestive Oncology to provide 1,000 free faecal occult blood tests, available on a first-come-first-served basis. Further details will be announced in due course.
