Alzheimer’s Early Screening Subsidised Programme
Learn more about cognitive health
Cognitive health is essential to quality of life. To raise public awareness of cognitive health, Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong is launching an Alzheimer’s Early Screening Subsidised Programme to help individuals better understand their cognitive status and assess the risk of related conditions. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of cognitive impairment, accounting for about 60% to 70% of cases. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that affects memory, thinking and daily functioning.
This programme includes:
- Memory Assessment – Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) by an occupational therapist to evaluate memory and cognitive function
- Blood Test – a p-Tau 217 blood test to measure the concentration of protein, which is a biomarker for Alzheimer’s diseases pathology
Early detection matters. Timely intervention and appropriate treatment may help slow disease progression, improves quality of life and potentially reduce future medical expenses. Take the first step toward protecting your brain health today.
