Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong embraces corporate social responsibility with preferential offers on all-inclusive medical packages for public hospital patients

(30 October 2023 – Hong Kong) Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong (Gleneagles) upholds the sustainability aspiration of its parent company IHH Healthcare. Driven by the “Care. For Good.” approach, the hospital strives to make a positive impact on our patients, our people, the public and our planet with annual sustainability goals set for each of the four pillars. As part of its wider commitment to corporate social responsibility, Gleneagles has been fostering timely care for patients through different initiatives including launching exclusive offers on all-inclusive medical packages.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital launched preferential offers on all-inclusive medical packages to help patients who were affected by the reduction of non-urgent surgeries in public hospitals. In a bid to further support public hospital patients, Gleneagles extends the offers to cover more medical packages. From today until 31 March 2024, patients with appointments scheduled for specialist outpatient services in public hospitals are eligible to join the all-inclusive medical packages at a reduction of 20% from the original fees. The programme covers a range of specialties and close to 30 surgeries and procedures including breast lesion excision and mastectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, cataract, removal of stones ad more, with a fee reduction of up to HK$35,000. The special offers on total knee replacement (bilateral and unilateral), coronary angiogram and percutaneous coronary intervention launched earlier for public hospital patients will remain effective until 31 December 2023.

Dr Kenneth Tsang, Chief Executive Officer of Gleneagles, said, “We endeavour to care for our patients, our people, the public and our planet. In caring for patients, we strive to deliver accessible and personalised care with the best possible clinical outcomes through devising initiatives that meet their needs and help alleviate pressure on the public healthcare system. With the support of our doctors from different specialties, we are pleased to be able to offer more preferential packages to benefit more patients.” “Since the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have served about 1,400 public hospital patients through an array of discounted medical packages and different public-private partnership programmes”, Dr Tsang added.

Gleneagles currently offers more than 310 all-inclusive fixed-price medical packages covering different specialties. The package fee covers doctor and anaesthetist’s fees, diagnostic procedures, treatment, operating theatre, equipment, implants, medication, consumable, room and meals, nursing procedures, as well as fees arising from complications and intensive care, if any. Pre-admission fee advisory service is also offered to provide patients with a clear understanding of the fees and services covered. Further details on the above offers on all-inclusive medical packages are available on the hospital website: https://gleneagles.hk/promotions/special-offers-for-public-hospital-patients.

Gleneagles will continue to spare no effort to build a better world for generations to come by caring for different stakeholders and the planet through various sustainability initiatives. Among other upcoming initiatives to promote a healthier community, the hospital will roll out a variety of activities to raise the public awareness of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in November 2023.
