(Hong Kong, 1 September 2026) Gleneagles Hong Kong (“Gleneagles”), part of the IHH Healthcare and an integrated healthcare services network including Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong which is a teaching hospital affiliated with The University of Hong Kong Health System, has launched a prostate-specific antigen and hepatitis B screening programme, offering free blood tests to 1,000 eligible members of the public. Aligned with IHH Healthcare’s Care. For Good. sustainability aspiration, the initiative reflects Gleneagles’ commitment to improving access to preventive healthcare and creating positive impact within the community. The programme aims to promote greater awareness of prostate and liver health and support early identification of potential health risks.

The screening programme is open to persons aged 18 or above. Eligible participants may receive free blood tests for prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and/or hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and hepatitis B surface antibody (Anti-HBs), depending on individual screening needs. Eligible participants can choose to receive the blood test with a report free of charge at Gleneagles MediCentre in Admiralty or Gleneagles Healthcare South Horizons. Where abnormal results are noted, participants will be offered a consultation with a doctor through Gleneagles’ teleconsultation service and, if necessary, referrals to specialists, free of charge.

According to the Hong Kong Cancer Registry, prostate cancer was the third most common cancer among men in Hong Kong, with 3,031 new cases recorded in 2023. Liver cancer, with chronic hepatitis B infection being one of the major risk factors, remained among the top five most common cancers in the city, recording 1,700 new cases during the same period[ ⁱ ]. As these conditions may not present obvious symptoms in their early stages, greater awareness and timely health assessment can help individuals better understand their health status and seek appropriate medical advice.
