放射治疗及肿瘤科中心
放射治疗是最常见的癌症治疗方法之一。由于不同癌症对辐射有不同的反应，所以在处理癌症时，有时会单独使用放射治疗，亦可以配合其他治疗方法，如外科手术、化学治疗、标靶治疗、贺尔蒙药等。
放射治疗是透过使用特殊高科技设备向身体内的癌细胞发送高能量的辐射，这些辐射线可针对生长分裂较快的癌细胞加以破坏，而正常细胞由于修复能力较好，只要好好规划放射治疗的位置及适合的放射剂量，便可控制癌细胞生长，并且可减低因正常细胞在治疗过程中受伤害所引起的副作用。 由于放射治疗是一种局部治疗，它只会影响被照射的身体部份，这亦是与化学治疗的最大分别。

放射治疗一般流程
港怡医院肿瘤科医生或病人的私家医生会与病人会面，商量治疗计划，包括详细解释治疗细节及风险等事宜。
为有效提升治疗的准确度，放射治疗师会按不同治疗方案的需要，为病人订制合适的固定模具。
根据治疗需要，我们会安排病人在本中心进行电脑设计扫描，这些影像资料将帮助我们为病人设计出一个合适的治疗方案。
医生会根据病人的情况，利用先进医疗电脑，定出治疗范围，并由我们的团队为病人设计出具体计划。
此时病人可稍稍休息，为即将开始的放射疗程作准备。而我们的医生、放射治疗师及物理学家团队正紧密合作，为治疗方案进行各样的测试及覆核程序。
放射治疗师将邀请病人到治疗室进行精确的放射治疗。在第一次接受疗程前，治疗师会详细解释各注意事项。我们的整个护理团队将照顾及协助病人完成疗程。
