Nurse Manager (Critical Care Unit)

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and support the smooth running of clinical services
  • Lead and supervise nursing unit, to ensure patients received quality and safe care
  • Development and retention of nurses in partnership with nursing teams and HR department
  • Conduct performance evaluation of nursing staff
  • Hold responsibility, coordinate and implement staff orientation, in service training and staff development program
  • Effectively communicate the Hospital’s vision, mission and values to nursing staff
  • Assess competency mix across the unit
  • Ensure that the system of clinical policies and procedures are in line, thus guiding nursing practice
  • Lead, facilitate and promote patient’s clinical safety and risk management practices amongst nursing staff, facilitate hospital occurrence reviews by promoting open reporting in examining clinical incident data
  • Act as mentor, coach and counselor to nurse staffs, be a role model of desired leadership and team behaviors of the nursing team
  • Provide comprehensive patient care and implement safety work for maintaining safe practice
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, resolve and follow through quality and service issues
  • Foster sound professional collaborative relationships with members of clinical leadership, management team, frontline and the public
  • Maintain good communication with doctor, patients and relatives
  • Maintain and enhance nursing practice standards through participation in quality improvement programs
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing and preferably with a post-graduate Master Degree in Nursing or Healthcare / Heath Services discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification clinical nursing experience with at least 3 years in nursing management role
  • Post registration specialty qualifications
  • Possess a valid/current nursing practicing certificate in Hong Kong
  • BLS bi-yearly recertification
  • ACLS is required for Critical Care Areas
  • Strong leadership and influencing skill and good interpersonal skills
  • Experience in nursing recruitment, training and development activities
  • Staff coaching and mentoring skill is essential
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese Languages
