Nurse Educator (Medical & Oncology)

Job Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision and direct patient care in medical & oncology specialty area, and to support nurses in further developing competence in clinical practice
- Develop, implement and evaluate clinical based education activities including clinical teaching, coaching and assessment to enrich medical & oncology nursing skills, knowledge and professional values to meet competency and learning objectives for all level of nursing staff (NM, RN, EN, & HCA) on delivery of patient care
- Assist to develop medical & oncology nursing standard, care protocol and compliance monitoring
- Conduct orientation, induction and provide role transition support for of new joined nurses, fresh graduate nurses, nurse learners, and newly promoted staff to ensure service quality & safety
- Facilitate induction, supervision and support of nursing students
- Conduct Assessor Course and perform assessment of trained assessors for competencies
- Collaborate with nurse’s leaders and take lead in organizing CNE program and training activities to meet needs of nursing staff
- Collaborate with Nurses Managers, Clinical Heads and other NEs on any relevant nursing staff development, clinical based service and continuous education
- Work closely with Nursing Training & Development Department in formulating annual training plan and staff development for new services
- Design and liaise with different universities in mentorship training of senior nurses to facilitate student placement program
- Present as role model with desired leadership behavior
- Update and maintain training records under Nursing Departments
- Work in line with Human Resources Department on staff training & development issue
- Perform any other relevant duties as delegated/ assigned by supervisor(s)
Requirements
- Holder of a valid Registered Nurse practising certificate (Part 1) issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong
- Degree holder in Nursing and preferably with post-graduate qualification in Oncology Nursing, Education & Training
- Master in Nursing or Healthcare/Health Service Discipline
- Minimum of 10 years’ clinical experience in hospital
- Minimum of 5 years of school teaching / clinical teaching experience
- Preferably to have experience in managing nursing student placement program
- Fluent in English & Cantonese speaking and writing
- Good communication and interpersonal skill
- Possess valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
- Valid ACLS is required for Medical & Oncology areas
