About the role

  • Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel, guide staffing procedures
  • Provide leadership in the nursing manpower planning, development and retention strategies
  • Plan, recruit and retain high caliber nursing professionals with the right balance of experience, knowledge, skills and attitude to deliver safe, high quality and compassionate care to patients
  • Effectively communicate the organization vision, mission and values to the nurse population
  • Ensure that the system of clinical policies and procedures are in line, thus guiding nursing practice
  • Create new policies and update existing policies to help improve the level of care for each patient
  • Drive the design and development of all nursing processes and workflows to enhance nursing Quality and Safety, in order to meet desired patient outcomes
  • Build right culture of service in the nursing team, continuous improvement and engagement at all levels of nursing team in order to achieve finest clinical service and operational common goals
  • Proactively scan the systems and processes in conjunction with other clinical team members to identify systems and process improvement that will mitigate risk and ensure there is a robust safety culture within the team
  • Establish and implement a robust induction process and functional competency assessment programme of all nurses commencing in the facility, and develop clear professional development and career plans for nurses
  • Support the development of a good clinical learning environment for nurses, working in collaboration with senior nurse leaders / managers
  • Develop leadership capability of Assistant Director of Nursing, Senior Nurse Manager and Nurse Managers
  • Plan budget, monitor nursing manpower and capital resources allocation
  • Provide leadership in fostering strong team collaborative work environment
  • Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
  • Perform other assigned duties

About candidate

  • Degree in Nursing with a post-graduate Master Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Management
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of post-qualification clinical nursing experience with at least 7 years in a senior nursing management role, previous experience in similar functions will be an advantage
  • Post registration specialty qualifications
  • Possess a valid/current nursing practicing certificate in Hong Kong
  • Clinical and technical competency
  • Experience in Quality and Risk Management
  • Can lead nursing recruitment, training and development activities
  • Strong leadership with hands-on management skills, and influencing skills
  • Staff coaching and mentoring skill is essential
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good judge of character and conflict-resolution skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese Languages
